Here We Go

I'll believe it when I see guys in coveralls swarming through the front door, but it looks like the countdown to construction is on.

Got a phone call yesterday from Jim the Builder, who says he'll be at the house this afternoon with his team to start the prep work. We've cleared everything out of the kitchen, living room, dining room, and breakfast area except for:

• The TV
• One easy chair
• One lamp
• The refrigerator

There's a place marked out on the garage floor where the fridge will go. We hope we'll still be able to get the car in the garage, too (my brother Craig wants to know if we'll have to back the car out whenever we want to get out the milk). As for the old TV--well, I think Tharon may have watched her last episode of "NCIS" on it.

That TV is a warhorse. A 27" Mitsubishi Diamond Vision, circa 1983. It came from Matthew's ("Top of The Hill, Daly City"). Remember the ads?

We didn't get the free bike. But we did get a TV that lasted for a quarter of a century. So long, old warrior.
