Kitchen: Gone!

This whole project started many, many months ago when Geoff came home from a friend's house in the neighborhood (they have the same model house) and said, "Man, you should see what they did...they knocked down the wall between the kitchen and the family room."

We took a look...we liked what we saw...and that formed the starting point for what's now underway. Today, we got the first look at that original vision--the guys knocked out the wall between kitchen and family room. In fact, they pretty much knocked out the kitchen!

I'm fascinated by what they save. That stack of lumber in the foreground is a pile of 2x4's salvaged from the kitchen demolition. There's a stack of bricks out in the yard from the fireplace and hearth. Even the old carpet is apparently destined for some further use (though not as floor covering--it gets used in some sort of police training activity).

Anyway, we're now starting to see how things will look someday.
